DDR3 has been out of production for years, which makes it expensive to buy new and an obvious candidate for a tested used module. DDR3L is the low-voltage version: a DDR3L module runs in almost any DDR3 laptop, but a plain DDR3 module will not always run in a DDR3L-only machine. Where the label says DDR3L, we list it as DDR3L.
